Wedding ceremonies are a joyous event, bringing family and friends together to celebrate the union of two people in love. With that said, being a wedding guest comes with some expectations and one of those expectations is the wedding gift. Giving gifts to a wedding couple, as a token of love and support, is a longstanding tradition. Many people are stressed or perplexed when buying a wedding gift, but due to the wedding registry these are probably the easiest gifts to buy. Here are some simple wedding gift guidelines:

1. If you are invited to the wedding you should send a gift, whether or not you can attend.
2. Send the gift before the wedding or as soon after the wedding date as possible.
3. You can take a gift to the wedding, but it is better for the couple and their families if you send the gift.
4. It is recommended that you choose a gift from the couple’s gift registry. It takes the worry out of the process. You know you are buying something they want, and it most likely won’t be duplicated. It is a thoughtful way to show that you respect the couple and their taste.
